Quilt blocks on pants hangers. A cute way to display quilt blocks.

Cute Quilt Display Ideas

Today on the blog, I’m sharing a few cute quilt display ideas! If you have special quilt blocks, orphan blocks, or fun mini quilts I am going to show you a few easy ways to display them. So get those quilt blocks out of hiding and go ahead and enjoy them on display!

Wooden Hangers

Head over to your local thrift shop and look for some vintage wooden hangers! That’s where I found my pant hangers. I have a vintage quilt block that my Grandma made and it’s displayed in my sewing room on a cute little hanger. It still has the pins in it just like she left them and I want to keep it that way. It makes me happy to have her quilt block in my sewing room instead of it being stashed away in a treasure box somewhere!

My hangers have felt lining on them, but if yours don’t you might want to add a little strip of felt or craft foam. The felt provides a little grip to keep the quilt blocks from sliding around or slipping out.

For quilt blocks that are a little wider than the actual hanger is, you’ll want to give them some extra support so that they hang properly. Try a cork tile and stick the quilt block to it using glue dots or double sided tape and then hang the tile from the hanger.

No luck at the thrift shop? I got you covered! There are several options online

For my non-quilter friends, this idea also works great to display all types of art. I dabble in watercolor now and then so I use the hangers to display my art, hang it while it drys, etc. I hang hand embroidery work up too. And wouldn’t kids seasonal art look cute displayed like this?

Washi Tape

An even simpler display method is to adhere your quilt blocks directly to the wall with washi tape. The tape doesn’t harm the wall at all! I have a nice little collection of washi tapes that I’ve picked up at craft stores and I’ve also received washi tapes in my Christmas stocking. Cute gift idea right!?

Cork Board

My friend Betty has a cute cork board in front of her sewing machine. Look how cute her blocks are!

I love this idea and the frame is so pretty! I have a small cork board but I’d love to have a large one like this.

There you have it! Cute quilt display ideas that are easy to change up.

Be sure to show me your displays in the comments!
