Free Printable Valentine Card
I’m always sewing (and occasionally sticking myself…ouch), so making a sewing-themed Valentine card just seemed appropriate. What better than a cactus with stickers! Put your own special touch on this printable Valentine by using it as a stitching card or just print it out and use as is. To make, first print this template onto card stock.
Anthropologie Display-Behind the Scenes
I was so lucky to get a glimpse into the display process at the Anthropologie Holiday Display Workshop! In October I attended a holiday decor workshop at the Anthropologie store in Southlake, Texas. I got crafty with the visual team and created pieces for their holiday display.
My First Long-Arm Quilting Class
I finally took a long-arm quilting class and learned how to use the APQS Millie! I’ve been free-motion quilting on my small home machine for a while now, but after wrangling with yards and yards of bulky layers I decided it was time to experience the world of long-arm quilting! I have a couple of larger quilt tops that I want to quilt myself, but first I needed to get this class under my belt. Now that I’m “certified” I can quilt my own tops on the long-arm!
It’s True, I love to Sew!
True, sewing can be complex, but it doesn’t have to be! From time to time, people ask me why I like sewing. I never really gave it much thought because but after thinking about it here’s what I came up with! While sewing can be challenging depending on the project, it can also be simplistic and relaxing. I also find that it gives me something positive to focus on and takes me away from all the noise going on in the world sometimes. There are times when I really enjoy sewing in solitude but at other times I have so much fun getting together with my sewing friends, attending classes, sharing ideas and shopping.
My First Blog Post
Summer has ended and I’m getting started on a new blogging adventure! As I type my first blog post, I’m getting the jitters. Almost like back to school jitters, so perfect timing as I join all the students who recently went back to school! Am I going to be good at this, what’s my style, is my blog name good, what about branding? I’m still developing exactly what will be shared on the blog and I’ll see where this adventure takes me, but my focus is on my “makes” in sewing, quilting, embroidery and also a bit about giving back. Thread to Thread is also on Instagram where I can share a quick photo and browse through all the eye candy but one of the reasons for me to blog is to have a chance to interact with people on a more personal level. What is your current project, where are you from and what do you enjoy working on? I’d love to hear from you!
